Neville led the development of the Altalto Immingham project, one of the world’s most advanced waste-to-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) projects, from its inception to the FEED (Front End Engineering Design) stage. Altalto is planned to make commercial SAF from municipal and commercial solid waste, with exceptional greenhouse gas savings of over 150%.
Meanwhile, Neville has also been at the forefront of the development of the UK’s SAF policy and SAF industry. He is a member of the UK’s Jet Zero Taskforce Expert Group and a former director of the Renewable Transport Fuel Association, and is active in industry groups in the UK and Europe. He is deeply committed to the protection of nature and the environment, and is driven by the urgency of establishing a SAF industry as one of the critical elements of the Energy Transition.
Neville has over 30 years' experience in the oil, renewable energy and consulting industries, including ExxonMobil, Bain, and Velocys. He holds an MA in chemistry from Cambridge University and a PhD from University College London, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Neville loves walking, and will be doing a 666-mile walk through England and Scotland in summer 2025, raising funds to combat Motor Neurone Disease; he also loves singing.
