Jonathan joined Viridor in January 2022 as Director of Capital Projects. He has 30+ years of complex project development and delivery experience across the energy and natural resource sectors, both in the UK and overseas. He previously worked as the GM for Engineering and Project Excellence for an oil & gas super-major, prior to becoming USA Project Director for Offshore Wind and playing a key role in transitioning people and project processes from oil and gas towards the renewables sector. Jonathan has been responsible for the successful delivery of complex new greenfield mega-projects in diverse locations such as Liberia, Canada and Brazil. His early career in the cement industry exposed him to a multitude of project types – ranging from brownfield upgrades, new fuel projects and environmental improvements all the way to full new cement plants in a progression of roles from senior engineer to construction and commissioning manager, to Group Project Leader of a global portfolio. His professional life has been split equally between UK and overseas working, with expatriate assignments in Egypt, Paris, Vienna, USA and The Hague. Jonathan holds a B.Eng in Mineral Engineering and a M.Sc in Solids Handling (with Distinction), he is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institute of Materials, Mining and Minerals.
