Juergen Schaper studied Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering and Power Plant Engineering at the Universität-Gesamthochschule Essen with degree of a Dipl.-Ing. (TH) (Master of Engineering) in 1989.

He has over 30 years of expertise in the management of nuclear and fossil fired power-stations in Germany and the UK, working for companies like E.ON and EdF.

In 2015 he joint FCC Environment as General Manager for the operation and maintenance of the Lincolnshire EfW.

Since 2021 he is also the Head of Operations and Maintenance within FCC Environment and is responsible for the technical direction of the 5 FCC EfW across the UK.

Since 2010 is member at the IMechE and achieved CEng status with the Engineering Council. He is Member of the IMechE Thermal Power Committee.

He is dual national German/British since 2018.

Derek is a Programme Director at Local Partnerships and is responsible for directing the Resource Efficiency and Waste Programme which supports Defra, Welsh Government and Local Authorities as they transition to a sustainable carbon and circular economy model.  Prior to joining Local Partnerships in June 2021, Derek worked for over 30 years in environmental consultancy with the latter years supporting Local Authorities and the Private Sector in the procurement and delivery of waste infrastructure to meet landfill directive targets.

Alban Forster MSc (DIC) is a Director for SLR leading the company’s Infrastructure Sector across Europe.  Over his 30 year career, Alban has worked on a number of transactional due diligence studies  for investors assessing the feasibility of numerous infrastructure assets, biomass and waste to energy schemes, their business viability and environmental risk. Alban is also an accredited PRINCE 2 practitioner ensuring his capacity to manage teams and projects complement his technical capability.
Alban has also worked in the mining sector in Western Australia and as a water engineer in the South Pacific.
