Marcella Franchi joined Haffner Energy in 2021, a company with more than 30 years of proven expertise in biomass-to-energy technologies and over 40 plants delivered worldwide. She played a pivotal role in the success of Haffner Energy’s IPO in February 2022. As the company’s international ambitions accelerated, she was appointed Global Chief Marketing Officer and now serves as Chief Commercial Officer. In May 2024, she was also named Head of the newly created Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) business unit, reflecting the strategic importance and rapid growth of this sector within Haffner Energy.

Marcella began her career in financial engineering at Warren & Selbert (now Accufy Inc.) in London, where she spent 17 years. She later became a successful entrepreneur, founding and leading real estate and rental businesses in the UK and Portugal. She holds a degree from the London School of Economics and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Finance from London Business School. Marcella has lectured and consulted at universities in Hong Kong and Lisbon and currently serves on the boards of the LBS Energy Club, Sol Domus and MM1 S.A.

A seasoned international speaker, Marcella regularly addresses global audiences on the energy transition, circular economy, clean energy, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), hydrogen, and methanol. Fluent in five languages, she brings a truly global perspective to the development of next-generation energy solutions and acts as an Ambassador for Women in Green Hydrogen.
