Marcella Franchi joined Haffner Energy in 2021. The company has more than 30 years of proven expertise in biomass-to-energy technologies and has delivered over 40 plants worldwide. Marcella played a key role in the success of Haffner Energy’s IPO in February 2022.

As the company’s international ambitions accelerated, she was appointed Global Chief Marketing Officer and now serves as Chief Commercial Officer. In May 2024, she was also named Head of the newly created Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) business unit, reflecting the rapid growth of this strategic segment within Haffner Energy.

Marcella began her career in financial engineering at Warren & Selbert (now Accufy Inc.) in London, where she spent 17 years. She later became a successful entrepreneur, founding and leading real estate and rental businesses in the UK and Portugal. Marcella holds a degree from the London School of Economics and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Finance from London Business School. She has lectured and consulted at universities in Hong Kong and Lisbon and currently serves on the boards of the LBS Energy Club and MM1 S.A. She is also an Ambassador for Women in Green Hydrogen.
