Chris has over 25 years of experience in the UK Oil and Gas Industry, beginning his career with Arco British and BP before joining Perenco in 2003. Throughout his tenure at Perenco, Chris has held diverse leadership roles within the Southern North Sea operations, spanning Asset Integrity, Safety Leadership, GHG emission reduction strategy and Operations Leadership. This varied operational background now informs his work within the Project Poseidon delivery team.
Building on the momentum of a successful offshore CO2 injection test in 2025, the Poseidon project is focused on the technical and operational transformation of the Leman field—the UK's largest legacy gas field—into a world-class carbon sink with a 1 Gigatonne capacity. Poseidon sets itself apart by repurposing existing offshore infrastructure to provide a pragmatic, cost-effective solution for hard-to-abate emitters from the Southeast of England to Teesside with expansion plans to Europe. By operating outside the standard "track process," the team is accelerating deployment of a flexible and scalable decarbonisation hub with first injection capacity targeted for 2029 aiming to minimise government support and kickstart the merchant CCS market.
