
Naheed helps to lead a complex organisation that spends over a billion pounds annually, providing services to 450,000 Kirklees residents.
She delivered the Councils new Waste Strategy, negotiated, and delivered the Interim Waste Contract, secured the largest capital programme for Highways from DfT and WYCA, as well as investment for unclassified roads and Playable Spaces.
Naheed works across multiple teams, cross-party working groups, scrutiny and consultations with partners and the public. She is the lead member for the Armed Forces Covenant.
Naheed worked in the Sudan, Local Government and has 20 years in Higher Education. She represented the membership on the National Executive Council of University College Union. Served as a magistrate, ran a consultancy business in Governance and Performance Management.
She is currently a non- legal member of the Employment Tribunal, a Police College Assessor, and a Peer, Mentor and Training Team member of the Local Government Association.
